Dennis - The argument that "we pay property taxes, so Open Space funds should be spent in our municipality" has corrupted the intentions of the Open Space Tax. Now, instead of saving thriving ecosystems, preserving habitats and species, the money is going to playgrounds, historic restoration projects and sport complexes. All worthy projects, but NOT addressing the problem that the Open Space fund was meant to address, ie loss of habitat. This is just another case of people with money subverting the will of the majority of good intentioned people for their own selfish reasons.
