Cape May - The Cape May City Manager may have absolute power to appoint a new police chief without consulting city council, but I'm wondering if a little professional courtesy should've been in order here? I believe the City of Cape May would benefit enormously if the mayor elect, a current city council member, and the newly appointed police chief started out with a good professional relationship. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. If the City Manager had acted with the tact and diplomacy essential for someone in his position, the ugly bickering that's about to unfold in our city could have been avoided.
