North Cape May - While visiting friends in Philadelphia this week, I drove thru the Germantown area on my way to Chestnut Hill. Why do people let their homes and streets fall into such decay? Why do they have security bars on their windows and doors? Just a few short minutes along Germantown Ave. and Chestnut Hill is a different world. Germantown was a beautiful section of Philadelphia and to see it now is so very sad. Rich or poor, there is no reason to not have pride in a neighborhood.
Moderator's Note:
Do the bars on the windows give a clue? Have the residents given up due to lack of civic order?
