Rio Grande - I called the police Jan. 11 and asked for animal control about an animal left outside at 2nd and Maryland. They said that animal control doesn't work after 5 p.m. unless it's an emergency. I think that below freezing conditions is an emergency! I emailed the mayor and have yet to hear a response from him. Most other towns have extreme weather ordinances and I thought Middle did as well. Does it take a dog to freeze to death again here in Middle for officials to take action? My neighbors wanted to steal this dog but are afraid. I am ashamed and saddened that no one cares.
