Wildwood - If we really wanted to keep guns out of the hands of mental patients, we won't dump HIPPA and create a database of the dangerously mentally ill, and if we wanted to really cut back on crimes committed with a firearm, we would attach a 10-year mandatory minimum that could not be plea bargained away. But we really don't want to do either one of those very sensible things. Liberals are afraid of guns. Countries with gun laws much stricter than ours, Brazil for example, have a higher rate of gun crime. Let's get real and stop coddling crooks, addicts and crazies. Protect the good and sane first.
