Avalon / West Chester - As a veteran, I need no thanks for my service, because it was my pleasure to serve this great country. What I would like is respect, including proper display, for our flag. When arriving in town recently, I noted two ragged flags being displayed - one on 24th, another on First Ave. Surely the owners of these multi-million dollar houses can afford to replace an unserviceable flag. I would guess they've not seen a member of their family in a coffin draped with a flag. If you can't display the flag correctly, do not display it .
