Cape May - Instead of extending the promenade, the city should focus on improving the existing structure. The first step should be to improve the view of the ocean, which is obstructed by wild overgrowth for much of its length. The walking surface is a patchwork of different non-matching materials and the concrete that was poured over the rocks between Decatur and Gurney streets is downright ugly. The cove pavilion is in dire need of restoration and the 70 or so benches installed end-to-end from Broadway to the cove have no view. The promenade is a major attraction and should be in pristine condition.
