Rio Grande - Another mass shooting in California. Assault rifles have only one purpose, to kill as many people in the shortest amount of time possible. They should only be in the hands of the professionals (police and military). Shouldn't we be able to attend church, children's parties, youth sports, etc. without the need for firearms? Prior to boarding a plane everyone had to remove their shoes. No one complained because we realized it was for the safety of all passengers. Can't this same sensibility be applied to assault rifles?
