Villas - Is there any way to get the state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to monitor Delaware Bay beach water? Many people swim there and if there are any problems, they should be made available to the public.

Moderator's Note:
From an August 2018 Herald article: "According to Bruce Friedman, director of the DEP's Division of Water Monitoring and Standards, the bays are not considered public recreational beaches under state health regulations since they are unguarded. Should municipalities elect to staff the bay beaches with lifeguards, water monitoring would be considered."
