Erma - Lower Township Council will be advertising a special meeting to be held Monday, June 8 at 4 p.m. to discuss and vote on Ordinance 2015-2, Animals. This was introduced prior and tabled at the May 18 meeting due to citizens' protest of the change to rules that would not allow dogs, leashed or unleashed, on Lower Township beaches from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. I commend the council for designating a special meeting to discuss such an issue but, at the same time, I see the time of day to be considerably onerous to all but our retired and vacationing residents. Does not say much for Lower's open governing.
