Court House - I see Middle Township is planning to grant 'tenure' to the public works superintendent. As stated in the Herald, "An employee with tenure no longer serves at the discretion of the governing body. Once tenured the individual may only be dismissed for cause following written charges and a public hearing." Why would they do this? Government employees should serve at the discretion of the government, and should be subject to dismissal or replacement just like any other employee. There is no place for 'tenure' in local government.
