Avalon - Re: Avalon watering the islands on Dune Drive so much that it completely soaks the whole 100-foot-wide street, the U.S., New Jersey, and Cape May County have a water shortage. The county has pulled so much water from the aquifer here that saltwater has been intruding into the wells in southern Cape May County. More wells every year are closed because of the lack of fresh water and the salt water fills the void. Our home has a beautiful, green lawn, and we never have to water it. If the grass does not need to be watered, it is wasteful to do so. Watering the streets is just dumb. Save water.
