Court House - In regards to the Mosquito Control helicopter that crashed three months ago: Is there any word yet on what caused the crash? Is the county going to buy a new one? Will that be covered by insurance or will the taxpayers be on the hook for it?

Cape May County Freeholders approved a statement at their Oct. 23 meeting attesting to the Aug. 25 loss of the Mosquito Control Department’s 1983 Heller UH12e helicopter that crashed in Court House. The aircraft was valued at $85,000, with a $5,000 deductible, making the loss $80,000, covered by Federal Insurance Co.
