Wildwood - I am a veteran of 18 years from the Philadelphia Police Department and own a summer home in Wildwood. Yes, your city pays your firemen and police officers a lot more than we get in our big city, so the risk and hours make no difference in salaries, but don't blame the officers for getting that much. They will take as much as your mayor and council will give them. I pay taxes there too and have no say in this matter. Remember, when officers retire they still get paid a good percent of their salaries for life. Also, don't get fooled by grants that hire more officers. Grants run out in three years and they become full time.
