Stone Harbor / Lower Township - Regarding the Stone Harbor Veterans Day/Dec. 26 issue: Even as a bleeding heart liberal, I am appalled by the self-serving attitude of the public works employees. I've heard that the request was made without any conscious effort to slight our veterans, but that almost makes it worse. Have we really become so self-centered that we have forgotten how our freedom was won and is still being preserved today? Our most recent veterans volunteered to serve. If you want off from work Dec. 26, take a vacation day.
