Wildwood hasn’t had a Shriners Parade since the Great Boardwalk Debacle of 2002, when some genius at City Hall decided those little cars should parade on the Boardwalk. Unfortunately, nobody considered that the little cars couldn’t climb the ramps. Engines stalled, cars rolled backward into railings, and a few nearly went off the ramp sides. Thankfully, no miniature tow trucks were needed. Most of the Shriners simply picked up their vehicles and carried them up the ramps. Rumor has it the police chief is conducting a traffic study.
