The right wing that imagines all women as potential Lindsay Clancys is projecting their own guilt onto them: on some level, they know that what our culture asks mothers to do is unsustainable, cruel, and often can be quite literally maddening. We need to do better for women, so that we can all be good parents to our children, and supportive of mothers in need and crisis. Being wealthy doesn't exempt anyone from mental crises; and breakdowns/psychosis do not select for gender.
