So now the good citizens of Cape May are waking up to the methodical destruction of this historic part of the city. The interpretation and the relevance have disappeared in this historic landmark city. The African American key contributing home torn down on St. Johns Street provided the path for the three-story police building with a roof deck that does not fit architecturally and aesthetically destroying the historical view of the park. You cannot build a walkway over wetlands that ends in the police parking lot. The vision of a beautiful gateway park enttrance to the city is gone forever.
