If the new Lower Township MUA cameras are networked cameras that transmit footage, metadata, facial-recognition information, license-plate information, or other analytics to a vendor’s cloud platform, that raises substantially different legal and privacy questions than a closed-circuit system that stores footage solely on government-controlled equipment.
