The article in The Herald asking why Avalon's business district struggles and Stone Harbors thrives. Speaking for myself and the many times that I have frequented both, when crossing the bridge into Stone Harbor, 96th St. is right there to greet you with its many shops and great restaurants. The tree lined street and nice benches to sit and enjoy the vibe say it all. "Welcome to Stone Harbor". I enjoy Avalon, but that same greeting and vibe just aren't there. It is the approach into town that gets Stone Harbor the attention. It works!
