As a concerned Cape May County resident, the recent odor complaints should concern all of us. Odors are one thing, but could declining morale, staffing issues and the loss of experienced employees eventually lead to more serious problems, including sewer overflows? I hope not. The employees who operate these facilities deserve credit for standing up and speaking out when they feel they aren’t being heard. They keep our wastewater system running every day. County residents should be paying attention and asking MUA leadership what is being done to protect both its workforce and our communities
