Trump issued an executive order requiring childhood vaccines for measles, mumps, and rubella to be given in separate medical visits, rather than all three in one visit. He bases his order on the thoroughly discredited belief that the timing of such vaccines plays a role in rising rates of autism. His executive order flies in the face of scientific consensus and decades of studies that have firmly concluded there is no link between vaccines and autism. Public health experts warn that children will suffer from a preventable disease due to waiting for the next vaccine-shot visit.
