Moving a major draw like the Avalon Library away from the downtown to a location too far to walk is a mistake. The move is significant enough that customer use will change. Right now families and seniors use the Library and then walk to eat and shop. You will lose that foot traffic with this move. The downtown will lose and so will the Library. Even if you leave an event space at the current location you will still lose the combined trip casual customer that benefits everyone year round. It’s hard to justify a concept plan which ignores this as being good for our community.
