I share the concerns of many residents about the Avalon Library’s proposal to move to the History Center location. The site is too small, parking is shared by tennis players and a playground, and is too costly to Avalon’s budget. During the summer months our current library is used with ample parking and no school students. They have an auditorium for performing arts. The library fund contributes its current surplus to the general budget. The claim of no tax increases for funding in incorrect. Will the state require changes to our local school district in the future? It is not essential!
