I have heard rumors that an outside vendor may be taking over the beach taxi service, although I understand nothing has been officially announced. Regardless of who operates the service, I think it would improve the professionalism and public image of the beach taxi program if all drivers wore matching uniforms or branded shirts. Currently, some drivers wear cut-off shirts, which can give the appearance of construction workers rather than members of an organized beach transportation team
