Just fyi to spouter saying buoy neglect help sink the Andrea Gail. The bouys were operating but, on the other hand, many forecasters believe that when the wave heights exceed 5 m, the anemometer height of most buoys reduces the wind speed. Higher up is more wind...on a ship for example.
