Nothing says fire safety like lighting off fireworks during an extreme drought warning. I hope everybody is feeling lucky this weekend. Patriotism is having common sense, not abandoning common sense for patriotism. I like fireworks as much as the next person but when an extreme drought warning is in effect and extremely high temperatures are forecast is the rockets red glare, a hot shot at the mercy of the air really the rational decision?
