Can someone explain to me why an island whose main draw is tourism is still bereft of lifeguards- at least in Wildwood and Wildwood Crest? This isn't the dead of winter, it's not even the middle of May. The hotels are bustling, and yet, no lifeguards. It's a disgrace. My family always came as early as June 9th, and there always used to be lifeguards from the time we first arrived. If it's a matter of school schedule conflicts, perhaps the state should reconsider the perimeters of their school year. It's inane that the beaches remain unprotected daily and it's almost the middle of June.
