We recently overheard a MAGA claim that high prices for gas at the pump are caused by Governor Murphy's imposition of a 50 cent per gallon tax. The MAGA is mistaken, a victim of misinformation. Misinformation is dangerous; it leads to faulty judgement and incorrect opinions, as in the MAGA's case. The 50 cent tax is in fact one of an annual automatic adjustment mandated by law to fund New Jersey's Transportation Fund that pays for transportation projects (such as the completion of Rt. 55?). High gas prices are mainly, if not solely, the result of Trump's war with Iran.
