The Correspondents' dinner is not a government event specifically NOT held and never has been at the White House because it represents press freedom and independence. There has never been any consideration of changing the venue, and if the Secret Service can lock down a golf course, they could have done more at the dinner. This is a ploy to distract and gain public support for the ridiculous ballroom bunker. Why wasn't there more security?
