LTES literacy scores are LOW and they keep taking away key components of literacy. The lack of librarians has been a problem since Whalen retired at Memorial. They keep making cuts to literacy funds as well as staff and programming. Over the years we have lost certified library media specialists and grammar and phonics for our elementary students. They removed basic skills in grades 3-6 and have an "intervention program" that doesn't have a clear plan or track data. We need to hire highly qualified people! Admin is just making things up to check boxes.
