The Journal of Experimental Psychology researchers surveyed hundreds of US adults. Each was asked to take a 60 question exam, a number of questions favoring left- and right-wing leanings, as well as 20 generic questions. Participants were also asked to rate their confidence in answering the multiple-choice questions, and questions about their political leanings. Two groups stood out as having the most confidence but the worst results: those with less political knowledge overall, and those with right-wing views. That is true of many Herald Spouts as well, it seems.
