I'm a bit bewildered by what I just heard on my scanner. For background information, I am a Commercial Airline Pilot, and have been flying for 17, almost 18 years. A local medivac helicopter was requested tonight for a traumatic injury. The helicopter declined- yes, declined "due to weather". Winds are out of the south at 4.6mph, visibility is 10 statute miles(the most the system reports), sky cover is clear, temperature is 59 degrees, dew point is 53 degrees and air pressure is 30.09" hg. You quite literally cannot ask for better weather for flying an aircraft.
