The CMC Government Facebook page made a post on 03/10 about the 2026 budget. The Commissioners pat themselves on the back about their decisions but don’t mention County employees at all. This county would cease to function without the hundreds of workers who maintain the roads, staff public buildings, provide public and social services, care for animals at the Zoo and Shelter, maintain and clean county grounds and facilities, perform clerical work, and more… yet there is no acknowledgment of where THEY fit into the budget or the County’s success. It’s disrespectful and myopic.
