I have been here in the US for 6 years with my children. My home is a small town in Haiti. We were offered an opportunity to work on a program granting up protection status as the government here had a job for me. It was dangerous and unsurvivable there. My children are 10 and 12. They are good students. I work hard and we pay our bills. My cousin also is here with her husband and child. We love it here. Our protection program is a path to citizenship. It takes a period of time to complete. We are worried about our status being taken and being separated or confined and removed.
