On Saturday, I watched one of the worst displays of sportsmanship I have seen in a while. The middle school Wildwood boys rec team not only walked out of the gym with time on the clock, but then only 2 of the players (no coaches) came back in to shake hands with the opposing team. The game was close the whole time, with Wildwood losing by only a couple points. Instead of teaching the kids to lose with grace and humility, the coaches showed them that it was acceptable to storm off the court and not even acknowledge the players on the other team with a handshake.
