I can't understand why I should be paying to subsidize the flood insurance for someone who buys a $4 million house on a barrier island. If they can afford the house they can afford the insurance on the house. Same goes with putting sand on the beach. The barrier islands reap the benefit; they should pay for their own beach. There's just not enough $$$ trickling down for us to continue this welfare handout to the one per centers.
