I was in Smithville on Saturday Christmas shopping and had the best shopping experience in a new/old glassware store. The young lady behind the counter greeted everyone as they walked through the door. She made eye contact, offered assistance, answered questions, and thanked everyone for coming in as they left, even if no purchases were made. She did not look at her phone or read her Kristin Hannah book but chose to be present and engaging with the patrons.
