Wildwood, New Jersey is basically the discount bin of beach towns, and its three municipalities - North Wildwood, Wildwood, and Wildwood Crest - feel like they’re competing to see who can be the biggest disappointment. North Wildwood acts like it's classy, but it's really just Wildwood with a fresh coat of paint. Wildwood Crest tries so hard to seem peaceful that it ends up feeling like a retirement home glued to a beach. And regular Wildwood? It's the chaotic center of it all - a place where neon signs go to die, ores' & gulls rule the streets, and the boardwalk smells like sunscreen.
