I grew up in Avalon, spending every summer there when it was wonderful. We knew almost everyone in the 60's as a third generation of family and extended family. We didn't have central air or huge homes or TV. Just ocean breezes and memories of spending time at the beach swimming, biking and investigating our surroundings. No one ever asked us to stay close to home, we were free to explore and had wonderful times doing so. I have to send my condolences in finding Avalon's beach access is people need climbing gear to gain access, and the homes are not quaint and welcoming. lost charm
