I personally am not in favor of the "everything is free" free beach and parking concept here on 5-mile island. Who then will pay for road maintenance which includes parking. Who will pay for the police (who have a really hard job) when the influx of people come to this island. Who will pay for the beach grooming, toilets, water used in showers, beach walkway placements, and of course our lifeguards. Should I as a resident be paying for all that so people have a " free day at the beach"? Everyone should "pay their own way" . No hand outs at all.
