Trump lawyer Kenneth Chesebro, who helped devise Trump’s alternate electors strategy in 2020, has been disbarred in New York. Judges on the Appellate Division ruled Thursday that Chesebro’s guilty plea in Georgia’s probe of efforts to subvert the state’s 2020 election results qualifies as a ‘serious crime. Chesebro still facies criminal charges in Wisconsin for his role in Wisconsin’s fake electors scheme. Both cases are state charges, so a Trump pardon wouldn’t help him. Chesebro is being punished for trying to overturn an election while Trump who did worse was rewarded with the presidency.
