Cape May

As per the article in The Herald this morning, 70% of the County will be at flooding risk by 2050. This should come as no surprise to anyone who has lived here for many years. When a single summer cottage is replaced with 10-12 condos or a McMansion with a pool, what do you expect when most of the permeable ground is gone. The barrier islands are overbuilt and overpopulated and flood after a heavy rain. We have no one to blame but ourselves for allowing this to happen. In my town of Cape May, just about every square inch of ground is covered by an overbuilt house. Sad, very sad.
