Does anyone know why many of the “ black” pine trees on the dunes in TI are dieing? Many have turned brown while others are bare of any needles. They ruin the appearance of the dunes, provide no storm protection and are now a fire hazard. Many of them are a few feet from houses. We are one cigarette butt away from a string of house fires. Will SI administration handle this or are residents permitted to clean up the hazards and the brush? Seems like someone should do something before we have fires and then the town administration says oh yeh , I guess we should have addressed that hazard.
