I was shocked to see about 75 feet of new Beach Mats as I entered the beach at 18th Street, on Memorial Day Weekend. In the past, beach mats on 18th Street were never seen until the July 4th weekend. These beach mats were new and looked like they could be rolled up. As I left the beach about 5PM, I noticed that the mats were rolled up and placed in the vicinity of the trash cans. For what purpose, I don't know. Seriously, can we get another set of 75 -foot roll-up mats to help the elderly get to and from the water. I promise, they will not need to be rolled up, and they will not wash away !
