I was 15 when I started pumping gas at my friend's father's gas station, up in Bayonne. My friend and I got 2 bucks an hour. That was for pumping gas. We had other duties too, that could bring a tip, like changing, or fixing a flat tire; or checking the air in a customer's tires. We usually washed windshields, and asked if the customer would like the oil checked too. I can't remember ever getting a tip if I did nothing extra. Fast forward to current times...despite getting a whopping $15.49 per hour (NJ's minimum wage), these youngsters feel entitled to a tip. This stinks, kids.
