Memorial Day remembrance and the red poppies of Flanders Field distributed by the VFW is treasure of history and a marker of where we joined with our Allies. There are 368 American Soldiers buried in the cemetery of the battle. There are 1400 Canadian soldiers joining them there. The poem of Red Poppies in the Fields of Flanders read by the VFW was written by a Canadian Officer. Memory requires that we not diminish our compatriots who joined us in harms way by extortion for their minerals. How say Agent Van Drew?
