Having served many years ago as volunteer at the welcome center, and also as a board member for the chamber, I am disappointed in the Borough of Stone Harbor's treatment of the fine ladies that serve there now. The Welcome center is where locals and tourists alike come to gather information about the Island from smiling faces. These fine folks who are paid by the chamber, or volunteer, do more to promote the town than the town does. They should be commended not looked down on. The events that the chamber puts on bring both business and joy to our community. Thank them if you see them.
