It was the Silent Generation. I looked it up. They were the ones in charge in the late 1970s and early 1980s when there were the first big gaps between productivity gains and wage increases. There were big gaps in the nineties, aughts and teens too. So also Boomers and GenX to blame, but it seems it started with the Silent Generation. Who knew?
