It seems as though there are still some spouters who are upset at retailers, charities, and utilties for charging for credit card usage. So, lets give some more insight from a local retailer. Credit card and applepay usage have increased annually compared to cash therefore taking more net earnings from retailers etc. The credit card companies have accomplished their goals by giving rewards and cash back programs as an incentive. Do you think they are paying the rewards themselves? ... no, they get that outta the retailers thru swipe and percentage of sales fees. Businesses are tired of it.
